BEST HIKES FOR FAMILIES
There are about 11 miles of trails. The most popular trail is the summit trail. It's less than a mile, but as the name suggests, you are going up to the summit of Enchanted Rock. Children probably won't have difficulty running up the trail, but if you have knee issues, take your time. Consider a hiking stick and take breaks.
BEST TIPS FOR KIDS
Enchanted Rock has a junior ranger program that kids can participate in and earn a badge.
Consider taking a ranger-led hike up the summit trail. You'll learn a lot and once you get to the top of enchanted lake, look for rare vernal pool lakes at the top. Be careful not to disturb them but kids will enjoy looking at the fairy shrimp inside.
