Snow capped mountains, dwindling glaciers, fields of colorful flowers, wildlife and turquoise lakes make Glacier National Park seem like a setting of a fairytale.

WHAT TO SEE

One of the most popular activities in Many Glacier is driving along the Going-To-The-Sun-Road. It usually doesn't open up until mid-July, so keep that in mind when booking a trip. Another famous feature is the Continental Divide. In the summer, the mountains are filled with colorful wildflowers. Don't forget the wildlife. There's plenty to see but practice safe viewing practices, especially for bears.

WHERE TO STAY

Glacier National Park has seven hotels, as well as two backcountry lodgings. The hotels range from motel type to luxurious, but all book up fast. There are also four front country campgrounds in the park. Some are first-come, first-serve and some require reservations. Just like hotels, it's best to reserve campgrounds, especially Many Glacier, as soon as possible.

Restaurants and camp stores are located throughout the park near the lodges.

BEST HIKES FOR KIDS

The Grinnell Lake Trail is 3.4 miles or a little less than 1 mile if you take the boat from the Many Glacier hotel. Enjoy the beautiful turquoise lake by Many Glacier hotel and view wildlife. The Highline Trail, which is over 20 miles, is considered a strenuous hike. It begins at the Continental Divide Sign at Logan Pass. The views along this hike are absolutely stunning. Consider hiking at least a short part of the trail, according to everyone's ability to get a glimpse of some of these fantastic views.

BEST TIPS FOR KIDS

In addition to hiking and the junior ranger program, there are some other fun family activities. You can take a red bus tour, Kids will enjoy seeing the park from a retro red bus. With younger kids, it would be wise to choose a shorter trip. There are also some boat rides that take passengers across Many Glacier Lake and Two Medicine Lake. If you need some more exercise, you can rent a row boat at Two Medicine.
